An HMO is basically a prepaid health with an HMO you will pay a premium every month.  An HMO covers trips to the doctors, hospital visits, lab tests and even therap if it is required.  Members of an HMO pay with a membership card in most HMO cases you may be assigned to a physician or you may have the choice of picking one.
